To determine if a chip is repairable, please refer to the criteria below. The full damage includes the chip and any cracks:

  • Full damage in A-Zone, driver’s line of vision, should be smaller than 10mm.
  • Full damage in B, C or D-Zone between 15mm, 25mm or 40mm.
  • If there is more than 1 impact point then the chips need to be more than 2 inches apart. Multiple chips closer than this are not repairable.
  • Chips need to be more than 7cm from the edge of the windscreen and not within the black band.
  • Chips that have been repaired before are not repairable. If a chip is not repairable then a windscreen replacement will be required.

Please start by filling out a contact form, ensuring that you provide your vehicle registration and address so that we can send you an accurate price and availability. Alternatively you can call us on 07723367352. Once you have reviewed your quote, and are happy to proceed, we can arrange a suitable day and time to come out to you. We kindly ask for a deposit for all vehicle glass bookings, this is to secure your appointment, and any balance would be due on completion. Once your replacement has been confirmed you will receive a 4 hour arrival window; we ask that you be available for the duration of the arrival window at the address given. We will call you when we are on our way with an exact time of arrival on the day. 

On the day of your booking, please ensure that you have removed anything on the existing windscreen that you would like to keep and clear the dashboard. If your vehicle has a dash cam, please remove the camera beforehand. Please also remove any parking permits, or membership stickers that you will be keeping so that you can transfer these over to the new windscreen once the windscreen bond has fully cured

A windscreen replacement typically takes around 1 hour to complete, but can take up to 2 hours depending on complexity and ADAS calibration.  The windscreen bond has a drive away time of 30 minutes.

DH Auto Southwest currently offer dynamic windscreen calibrations, which means that the ADAS camera can be calibrated whilst driving the vehicle. We do not currently offer static calibration as we are mobile only. Depending on which ADAS system your vehicle uses, following your windscreen replacement we can calibrate the camera or we can advise where to take your vehicle if the ADAS camera requires static calibration in a workshop instead. 

Yes. DH Auto Southwest Ltd offer a fully mobile only service, meaning we will come out to you at home or work, at a time that is convenient for you. We cover Mid & West Cornwall, including Helston, Hayle, Penzance, Truro, Falmouth, Newquay, St Austell and surrounding areas. To ensure that your mobile appointment runs smoothly, we ask that you provide a safe and legal place for us to park and work on your vehicle. We will need to park in front or to the side of the vehicle to carry out the work, and there needs to be sufficient space for the doors to be opened so we can carry out the replacement safely. If you are unsure of anything regarding parking arrangements, please contact us and we would be happy to discuss your requirements.

We accept payment by Debit or Credit Card, by BACS (bank transfer) or Cash. We will  ask for a deposit on booking for appointments, this can be paid via BACS or by using a Debit or Credit Card over the phone. Full payment or balancing payments are due at the end of the appointment. We do not offer credit terms unless you are a trade customer (please contact us for more information).
